About us

Tribe Africa was founded in 2020 to address the challenge of unemployment across Africa by facilitating business and career growth, providing growth linkages and support systems. We believe that closing the unemployment gap in Africa is achievable through micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) development. MSME are estimated to constitute about 90 percent of all businesses and to employ more than 50 percent of the workforce across the continent. MSMEs are an essential component of Africa's economic fabric. As a result of their ability to create jobs and reduce poverty, they are also recognized as major players in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our mantra is, leaving no person behind, 20% of our capacity building intervention is focused on persons with disability (PWD).

Vision

Sustainable economic growth in Africa, driven by business and career development.

Mission

To build a community of inspired, equipped, and influential business and career leaders who lead themselves and lead others that will stimulate economic growth and social development across Africa. We achieve this through capacity building, financing, networking, policy advocacy, and providing insightful, reliable data

What We Do

Conferences, workshops and training

Over the years, Tribe Africa has carried out research on challenges, capacity gaps and best practices for addressing the challenges of unemployment in Africa. Based on this research, we have designed and implemented a series of initiatives targeting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and career growth.

In partnership with our development partners, we facilitate conferences, workshops and training designed for business owners and career professionals who are looking to grow with the right knowledge. These conferences cover the basics of growing a successful business and career in Africa, and provide the needed support and linkages for growth. Bridging the business knowledge and corporate governance gap through capacity-building training.

Policy Advocacy Campaign

Policymakers, development partners, and financial institutions meet every year in order to identify the gaps and roadblocks that prevent businesses and talent from growing. As a result of this, we are able to implement actionable steps and policies that promote growth. Among the ways in which we work to promote economic growth is to work closely with national governments, regional entities, as well as local and international non-governmental organizations

Research

Our reach enables us to conduct relevant research on a variety of topics related to business and talent development. It is from these studies that we are able to develop reports that guide our programme interventions, as well as those of other support organizations. In addition, they also influence policymaking on the part of governments. Our ecosystem research can be found here if you want to learn more about it
